Still here and checking in Joe. Been terribly busy as of late. Got too many projects going and barely have time to build let alone visit all of the forums that I'm on. I also had a bout with AFib last month so my energy level isn't what it was due to being on a dang beta blocker now. Will get some posts up of my current projects and put something together for the next MOM.

I don't need the comments to keep building, I would do that anyway as it is enjoyable to me... but if I am the only one enjoying it on a forum why waste my time posting pics and writing on a site... I have hundreds of followers on Farcebook sites that comment and ask questions! That grows our hobby and leads to friendships!
I don't need the comments either, I am sorry if that was the impression I gave. Yes, I thoroughly enjoy building and painting models all on it's own; my collection can attest to that. Like you said, why post here then if nobody else enjoys it with you. That's where the additional motivation comes in with me. I don't post my work on Facebook anymore as it always disappears down the page before anyone can see or comment. As mentioned, why bother if nobody else sees it and shows as much enjoyment as I do? In my opinion, it is that very character of Facebook that killed the old LEM but that is just my unimportant opinion. I am a member of about six other Forums and I get a lot more comments, helpful suggestions, stories and compliments on my work and logging in to see all those makes frequenting those Forums more enjoyable and motivating.
Richard. I am one who also feels my work is not post-able either, and when I get no comments it simply reinforces that feeling. However, that being said, I do continue posting my work anyway. Since I spread it across so many other Forums; I am reassured that some of it actually is post-able and so I continue to post. I don't mind if you comment, even if you don't post, but I also understand your internal mantra; and I respect that.

Hey pontz, don't worry about having nothing completed, that's me 90% haha. I show those pictures to show I'm actively doing something when I can and also in hope that any errors or adjustments can be pointed out to me before getting too far ahead of the build or painting.

Hi guys! I'm here, live (for now ) and need to say: My absence isn't only here. I'm not posting anywhere. Have some things done since my last post here, including the Saint Chamond and many other models. My last two finished models were DUKW and M3 Lee CDL. Now in the bench I have the fantastic Gecko Models Larc-V Vietnam version! Sorry about my absence (the real life is calling hard). Cheers everyone!

I've been absent a while, too. As sometimes happens, I reached a point of dissatisfaction with how a current project was going (the M36B1, to be exact) and put everything aside for a while to think about solutions. Lately I've picked up a bunch of AFV Modeler back issues with particular topics I'm interested in and have been going through those to rekindle the interest. Also sorted through some back issues of Military Modelcraft International looking at modern stuff and thinking about using a Trumpeter T-64BV Model 1985 that's been in the stash to do a current Ukrainian tank. I've just come up with a solution to my M36B1 problem and started in on that this morning, so more on that soon. I've also been occupied with getting our trusty old C230 sold, which was completed just a few weeks ago. That required many hours of cleaning & detailing and about 130 photos to get it ready for the online auction, along with some online exposition of the car's history to entice bidders. And occupied with just trying to learn how to operate our new car. When 23 years go by between new ones, the learning curve for the vastly more complex technology is pretty steep. Thoroughly impressed with the new ride, but still learning...

I appreciate everyone checking in on this thread. It's a great way to sort of get re-introduced. I do have to admit that I haven't spent as much time here as I would like to. Several factors have determined that to be the case. I did recently complete a build in the new HobbyShack, so the ice has been broken! LoL. Still getting some non-hobby stuff moved out of the HobbyShack, and have been slowly working on another build that was started before we moved, which was two years ago! Maybe I'll get it finished this year! Hahaha

Just popping in for a quick update.
While I might have checked in and lurked, I haven't contributed anything to the site since mid-April. However, that pales in comparison to my modeling. I haven't sat down at my workbench to work on a model in at least 6 months.
The first half of this year has been nuts. From finishing up hip replacement rehab to having my only vehicle start to fall apart, from buying a new vehicle to having it get hit with less than 2000 miles on the odometer, and from trying to catch up on two years of overdue outdoor maintenance (see the aforementioned hip) to working in two vacations - one of family coming down here and one of me going up to Michigan - this year has been hectic. When I then add my father having some serious health issues (not unexpected), the anxiety of getting the car repaired, and for the past month or so, this unrelenting heat, and it's easy to see how modeling has taken a back seat in the schedule.
Anyway, that's the short version and I hope to get back to modeling sooner rather than later.
All the best to everyone here...I'll keep lurking and seeing what you're up to as time permits.
