1/32 Albatros B.II Early Wingnut Wings

Hello fellow modelers,
Here is the first of the three kits from WNW out of the found shipping crates. As for WNW they are still out of business from what I have been told so this is it. Here is the first of three, the FLexstowe F2.b is currently on the bench. I will have more detailed progress pics for it than this one. I'm trying to get up to speed again.

The Lot I was able to get. I still see that some are available.






As impressive as the laser cut wood looks it looked very cheap on the kit. I hand painted the wood instead.





I did not use any of the supplied or aftermarket wood decals. I hand painted the wood instead.


I nearly forgot I had these, I had to take out the PE they included with the kit.












Its been awhile since I've done wood so this took a few more tries than usual.





I tried something new weathering the copper tank.












All the canvas on the wings was airbrushed using MRP linen paint. 


















There she is. I decided to go easy on the weathering for this one. The Flexstowe will be in a water diorama.

A sweet looking model. The build and finishes are superb.

You mentioned some laser cut parts not looking right. I think the problem is that many of those who supply laser cut parts use material where the woodgrain is way over scale. To overcome this problem to go a wood veneer specialist who can supply veneers in very close grained wood. I used pear wood veneer strips on my Hispano Suiza Car model that looked very effective coated with a liquid wood finishing product named button polish.
