Thanks to a busy Hobby Day weekend, I was able to bring this over the finish line. This is the 1/72 scale Roden kit. It is a tribute to Reed West, one of my friends and fellow modelers who passed away last year. This was one model he had started but never finished. This is the second FWD 3-ton carrier I've built, so this one is a convertible: It isn't as great as it would have been if he'd finished it but I'm thrilled to have brought one of his projects over the finish line and to life. It is a worthy addition to my collection. Thank you for looking in, comments are welcome.

Nice work! How are Roden vehicle kits? I've dabbled at some WW1 planes from them and I like the detail, but building them is a bit of a nightmare.

Thank you Joe! Yes, it is fun! I had a blast building it.
Thank you Ducky! I can only speak for 1/72 scale Roden vehicle kits. They generally fit together pretty well with minimum sanding and filling needed, if ever. The only drawbacks are the extremely delicate and fragile chassis and suspension parts which are sometimes so thin they break when you look at them. All my Roden vehicles that have wheels always seem to lose at least one. The decals are very thin as well, too easy to fold if not careful. I've heard that the 1/35 scale Rodens are better, mostly because of the size so not as delicate. Their fit is at least as great as the smaller ones.
Thank you Robert! It is a bit slow, but a very satisfying start!
