Pass Joe a bib please, can't have him drooling (with antici...pation ! ), all over the shop, most unedifying - eeew ! 😳🤫
Rearrangement of factory space continues this morning, didn't quite get it dun yesterday (ran out of "zoomph" earlier than I thought). 😖 I will then get onto finishing 3 UFO's (Un Finished Objects) in the shape of 1/72nd Me 109 E (ICM, He111 (Italeri) and Aoshima's 1/700 HMS Norfolk (Going to git 'er dun if it kills me ! ) 😈
As to what I'm up to, two hints :- 1) Its something I've done before 😎 2) Its absolutely nothing to do with railways (sold all my remaining railway stuff off ages ago, not going back there, can't afford it !) 😲
All should be revealed shortly, watch for a post in the next couple of weeks in the latest aquisitions forum, I MAY have ordered something from the UK last night (quite a few somethings, truth to tell) 😉 Any guesses, tell the person seated to your left, and (assuming they know what you're raving about), instruct them not to tell me, cos its a secret and I'm not telling til its time to ! 😋

Having finished the wingys and 35th Tanks (pics later, in the relevant fora, assuming I can be bothered - its too blimmin hot to think out here atmo) its HMS Norfolk's turn.
She's been joined by some heavy friends, in the shape of (Norfolk at bottom of photo, in order then, from Norfolk up) HMS Queen Elizabeth, HMS Barham, HMS Malaya and "Big Mamie" USS Massachusetts, all Trumpeter 700ths and all calling in for some necessary upgrades (brass catapults on Massachsetts, crane Jibs and other items, possibly radar yagis/antennae etc; as deemed necessary across them all, including stretched sprue rigging, but not including any brass railings, those are utterly out of the question I'm afeared. 😖🤬🤯😲
That lot orta keep me busy til my UK ordered kits arrive ! 😈

Its just under half of it in total ! 😖😳
There's another three battlewagons (Bismark, Warspite and Nagato) still packed away, fully brassed and on bases, plus another 7 or so Cruisers (from memory, USS Long Beach, USS Boston, HMS Exeter, HMS Belfast, HMS Ajax, DKM Prinz Eugen (two different kits, one in her 1941 "Bismark Breakout" Guise (Tamiya) and one in her 1942 refurbed "Channel Dash" guise (Trumpeter) - 2 seperate models), plus about 6 Destroyers, including one Narvik class and a US Farragut class (resin kit), apart from those, the rest of my Naval collection (mainly IJN), was disposed of unbuilt to good homes or scrapped/similarly written off ages ago. 😎
I do intend rebuilding a few of them at some stage in the future, I'll git around to it one day.... 🤔😈 , I'm particularly partial to cruisers. 🤓
NO, this has nowt to do with my upcoming change in direction, THAT change is more to do with giving back and helping an old modelling mate out in an unpaid but semi-pro fashion (no way would or could I charge a long time friend like him for anything I'll be up to on his behalf !) 😎 More on that shortly, after arrangements twixt him and myself have been finalised in mutually agreeable fashion. 🤔🤫

From now on, if I'm buying or building 35th armour or 700th warships, they're for my collection.
If I'm building 72nd armour or aircraft, its for longtime modelling mate's collection , who has a large stash of such items, but owing to medical dramas, is unable to build anything, or do much at all with his hands. The choice of what I build from his stash is up to me, no set timetable for builds, as long as the finished build is to my normal standard, he'll be more than happy with the result
More on that in days to come.
Best Gomez of helping out an old mate 😉🙃

I've known him since we were at skule in the 1970's we were both mad modellers way back then, no painting , just build em without gluey fingerprints and get the seams neat, then drop the decals on and onto the next one sorta thing. 😎 Pocket munny never went far enough to guarantee the next kit was in hand to be built, so we both indulged in the bagged Airfix kits, which at the time were about 80 cents a pop, with some of the cheaper Jap kits (fuji/entex/LS etc), available from local supermarkets around xmas, a lot of the Jap kits had little sealed tinfoil envelopes of a particularly stinky, sinus searing glue in em, it wasn't any good for models, but made a good fireball if set aflame with a long barbecue match, a normal match normally meant a burned hand, cos that stuff exploded, sending burning glue globs everywhere when lit ! 😖 🤬
Anyhoo, its his problem atmo, he's working out which aircraft and tanks he'd like built first, once he's got that worked out, Its up to me in what order they get built, no set time schedule for the builds, like me, he walks away from a project for a few days (at most) just to refresh and wind down from time to time. Well, he used to, before a combination of injury and stroke all but made his hands uncontrollable for most fine movement tasks, that was before they started shaking like crazy every time he tried to hold a modelling knife or similar small tool.

First 6 72nd armour kits to be picked up from his place by me early next week. It seems I'll be doing mainly Armour/AFV's for him ("you were always better than me with tanks" he reckons...) 🤬 Seems his memory ain't what it was 🤫 I built way more 72nd aircraft than tanks back in the day 😖
Oh well, nay wuz (as they say) He reckons he's got some new stuff in recently that I won't have built before 🤔 If he's right on that I'll be suprised ! 😲
Its all good, if I can't help out a mate when he's in trubble, I ain't much of a friend am I ? (That's strictly IMHO) 😎

It could be interesting... He did mention some Trumpy, Hobby boss and UM items he's recently got hold of, although exactly what is still open to question 🤔 Seems just because he cannot build things, doesn't mean he hasn't stopped buying them ! 😖
In other news, I've had shipping advice from the PO that some of my UK ordered kits have arrived in Aussie and should be with me early next week. 😎
HMS Norfolk has finally finished construction, just needs a tad of rigging, sprue stretching happens later, pics after that ! 😋

Cheers Folks 👍
Just posted my latest inbounds in the "Latest Grabs" Forum, all of a maritime nature, one of the Cruisers and one of the Destroyers (names yet to be determined) will hit a slipway near me tomorrow, the other project is stalled, my mate was ambulanced to Hospital on the weekend, having suffered a fairly significant heart attack, his condition isn't the best and his prognosis (at present), is on the poor side. He's endured (and recovered from), worse, but thus far, its not looking good. It is only early days yet, so I'm hopeful.
Best Gomez 😉🙃

I'll be praying as well.
Nice additions in the acquisitions thread, those will be great to follow. I know how it is with waiting extra time or an order. I placed an order with Hobby Easy in December. Still waiting for that one.

Good things cometh (eventually), to them wot waits.. 🤫
Patience is a virtue (also a rather fun comic opera by Gilbert and Sullivan) 😎 - but I doubt cussing voluably in frustration at the waiting time is considered a virtue signal !
Living alone, no-one hears me cuss 🤬🤯😳
