First off, this is a gift from a friend of mine who invested in the kickstarter that got this tool made. He knew it would be a fantastic tool for modelers and so he got it for me: Some time back I made a large (at least to me) paycheck. After poaying for certain things that I needed and couldn't afford before (such as a new bench seat for my truck) I decided to give myself an early anniversary present with some of that cash while stashing away everything else. These are my chosen presents that just came in: Zvezda Soviet Motorcycle and Sidecar with crew: I have American, British and German motorcycles, now I have a Soviet one. Military Wheels Soviet Field Kitchen: Roden Pigeon Bus: Once this is done, I'll have all the Roden buses completed in my scale......until they release more. ACE AMX self propelled gun. This one will be Israeli, although I have plans to get another for my French Army: ACE AMX-13 DCA twin AA mount. This will be French: ACE Soviet gun Br-2: ACE Soviet Gun Br-5: ACE Eland-90 Armored Car: Interestingly enough, there's no South African decals for this car according to the instructions. I'll have to cobble some together.... ACE Ford V-8 Stakebed truck: Finally, two each of the ACE Centuron Sho't Kal Gimmel/Dalet: I'll be making one the Gimmel and one the Dalet; there are parts for each in the kit. I'm actually excited to be digging into these. That's all for now, I'll see you on the next tour....

The Army Painter stuff is pretty good Robbo, I've just found a stockist of this range locally, a Warhammer D&D type place, wargame tables and a cafe, it would be rude not to go in and spend once in a while!!

My birthday was a week ago. A trip to Hillsboro Hobbies netted me these two: The Mustang will be Clay Lacy's #64 air racer, the Tracker a pale green water bomber. Decals for both are on order. Other little bits that have arrived are correct props for a DML P-38 that I will try to wrestle to the ground as an air racer (decals on order). Fit is horrible, and if I'm not happy with it I will abandon it for a Hasegawa kit that was a birthday present from an old friend. For the Tracker, a canopy mask set and a pair of engines: Also acquired is a set of masks for the Neptune This double kit just arrived: The C version will be an air racer, the E either Honduras (the only air force to operate the type) or a civilian version. And finally, another set of decals for the mighty Monogram B-36: Yes, I have one of these that has been built up to major subassemblies sitting dormant for a couple of decades or more. I've always wanted to do the red/white/blue EB-36H, two of which were used as camera calibration targets on a missile test range. I have some shimming to do to the underside of the wings to improve the fit, and some work to improve the fit of the bomb bay doors. Another recent acquisition is a set of metal landing gear for this monster. Heaven only knows where I will put it when finished.

I wasn't planning on spending any money at AMPS Edmonton yesterday but there were a few deals way too good to pass up. I spotted another RFM Firefly Vc for the dirt cheap price of $40 that I absolutely could not pass up. The one in my stash is slated for my next project, so I needed to replenish it eventually. Also picked up a couple Dragon 1/72's that the vendor had in bags, the LCM and tank kit only had the tank, no LCM and the Normandy M4a1 was missing 1 sprue with the tools, but that won't be a problem. $55 CAD for the lot

Nice Idea Joe. Ive been searching the web for pics and as you can immagine not too much there. I did read an account ref a replica build of one (Real life size) and somebody who apparently used them quoted that equipment was never stowed on the tail gate and the insides were never pink but green the original colour. as for the colour I can believe as to start with they were issued green and hand painted in theatre. The colour was gained (apparently) by mixing iether red oxide and white or sand!! this would explain the variation in colours. I have my room to sort out to make space, once this has been done I will put this kit at 100% focus for a build.
