I'm Steve bit everyone calls me Woody. I'm from London U.K. and after a break of almost 30 years I am getting back onto scale modelling. Sadly in those 30 years my sight is failing and my hands are arthritis ridden and shakey.
But that doesn't put me off. I like1/12 scale motorcycles mainly Tamiya and Hasegawa but I'll build anything and have just recently discovered all metal kits and completed builds of USS Missouri and Iron Man. I also record my builds and put them on my YouTube channel.

Welcome aboard!
Seems to be a modeler's tale.
When we are young and able, we lack the money and also often the space in our homes. When we grow older and have houses, the sight and the fingers start letting us down.
But the critical factor at every stage is time.

I have a lot of catching up to do, since I was "born again" I've only done 3cplastic and 2 metal kits, they all turned out crap.🤣 But like they, practice makes perfect.

Welcome aboard Steve!! Glad to have you here and looking forward to seeing your builds in action. There's alot that has changed in the modeling world in 30 years but have an idea that you're really going to like it.

I am back home for a little while, I have surgery scheduled for some time next week but in the meantime, I am at a computer, I was using tapatalk from my mobile to access this forum but I prefer a proper big boys machine. I have never, nor will ever claim to be any good at scale model building, I look round this board and I am dead jealous, in the nice way , of some of the skills you guys have. I build for me and I build for fun and TBH I don't care if they turn out badly or look rubbish because I know each build is just practice for the next build. I wasn't actually going to get back into building but I found myself having to spend time in hospital and hospitals are really boring places. I discovered all-metal kits that didn't need glue to put together and I thought they would be great to while away the hours while I was in hospital. So to see what these kits were all about I built one at home, a model of the USS Missouri. There are 3 videos altogether. This build which was long and complicated re-ignited my passion for building models and I decided to get my "kit" out of the attic and start building kits again. I was so out of practice and it had been so long since I last built one that I decided to start small and cheap With a Revell 1:76 scale model of the M24 Chaffee tank. I was happy ish with it then a friend got me4 another small kit build, a WW2 armoured scout car. This one I wasn't happy with and decided that 1:72 and 1:76 scale were a bit too small for my liking. so I went on to build a 1:12 scale motorcycle which I really enjoyed, I am currently in the process of editing the video for that. My video making skills are on a par with my model making skills.

Woody, welcome to these boards. We all started (or restarted) sometime and skills do improve with time and use. So far, you've done some spectacular work! All metal kits? Wow, you're a braver man than I Gunga Din! I have a hard enough time with plastic sometimes!
Enjoy these Forums and thank you for showing your work.
