After some time, I managed to bring some models over the finish line. These are my three latest for this month. First my British Army has taken delivery of this 1/72 scale Roden Rolls Royce Pattern 20 Armored Car: Next, my Russian army has taken delivery of these two tanks: First, this 1/72 scale ACE IT-1 Drakon Anti-Tank Missile tank. This is based on a T-55 chassis: This next one is the 1/72 scale ACE T-62B main battle tank: With those last two Russian tanks completed, I have finally gotten that entire stack of eleven Russian tank kits out of the way. That stack of boxes is gone. I love it! These aren't the best I've done, not even close. I'm still practicing with Tamiya's weathering powders too. I'm not too happy, as I don't want my tanks looking so crazy dusty. It could also be that Tamiya's weathering powders are formulated more for 1/35th scale armor, which might be why it looks so heavy here. Hopefully someday I'll improve enough to satisfy my sense of aesthetics, or find another system that works better with 1/72 scale armor. Thank you all for looking in, comments are welcome.

Two more for the collection is good... try dabbing the brush in the powder then wiping it on a towel before you put it to the model...

Chaps, believe me, weathering powders are mean to a model, they adhere too fast onto satin and particularly flat surfaces, the won't adhere onto gloss surfaces so they just dissapear even with a lot of fixer, they can't be moved properly by brush and the result depends most of the time on a lucky shot. It's much easier to work with enamel dust washes, they come in many shades and are easy to work with, removable with a simple swap of a brush dipped in mineral thinner or enamel thinner and they can be faded beautifully. I have a whole range of these pigments from the early days and I use them to make thick mud only. My two cents my good men!

Nice work! I've always had a soft spot for Rolls Royce armored cars. I should really do one.

Thank you Joe!, My apologies for leaving you and AG out, for some reason I forgot to respond to you two. Maybe it was the cat on my lap making it impossible to type. Good idea with the paper towel idea; I'll consider that for the next model indeed!
Thank you AG! I appreciate your information, suggestions and ideas. Usually, I use my powders on flat coated models so I can get them to stick. I'll look into some of those enamel powders, but since I have a good supply of Tamiya powders, I can take my time. Income is quite scarce these days....
Thank you Chris! I've always considered getting one and building it, but there were so many other models that caught my attention more. When this one was sent to me for free, I just took the opportunity to get it built.
