You're correct on the shape Tobi. The lower (front) corners are 90 degrees with no radius while the uppers (rear) are radiused. As difficult as it may be to believe, I've got a couple of pics of some Dutch Leo2A4 tanks that show the plate as depicted by HB. I'm actually quite surprised that HB got something right.
I'm not worried about which skirts would be used as I'm not using any.
I did however notice how badly HB botched the mirror mounts, and plan to fix that and add the stored end links.

You're right Russ.
I have found verification of the shape, too.
The Dutch Leopard came from the 2nd and 3rd production batch and had the bolted plate like HB made it. That means your A4 is a later upgraded veteran.
And I learned something new about the Leopard I didn't know before.
