I took some time off for my birthday. That gave me a 5 day vacation! Most of my time was spent with my grandchildren! But when I was at home I turned on my lathe and it gave me some cool things!

Back in September I ordered this hood ornament from Year One. It arrived a couple of weeks ago. I made a temporary base for it out of a piece of dowel.

I bought a 4x4 about 4 ft. long that was cracked. I made this base.

Kelley and I both thought it was too big for the ornament. So I made this base.

After removing the base, I had some wood left on the lathe. So I made this for my Matchbox car.

I turned the bigger base into a cup for my tweezers.

I also made a small bowl.

I had a great vacation!!!
