I decided it was time for this little Tamiya 1/35th British Universal Carrier Mk.II to hit the bench!!! Pull up a chair and let's see where we go...

I see I have markings for a Canadian unit and not having done anything for my Northern neighbors I will do this as one of their units... And this is where it is now...

Thanks Jed!!! These rubberband tracks weren't any nicer then yours... my glue melted the connection point, ended up super gluing to the wheel to get it to stay closed, ha, ha!!!

Base coat of faded olive started so I can paint the interior details before closing it up and worked on the driver...

OOPs, I have that type of track for my Warrior AFV!!! It's a few years since I have worked with the rubber tracks, but I remember I gave up trying to glue them. The best solution I found was to carefully melt them together never had a problem after that.

That's what I should have done but Tayima says glue them with model cement so I did and it melted the connector... lol!!!

No worries though as it will be painted and stuck in the groundwork on the small base I will make!!!

Excellent choice, Joe. You and I are both going back to the heyday of Tamiya...I'm building the Flak 36/37. Make it three! I am doing the very old T-34/76 from Tamiya at the moment. And I am even keeping the rubber band tracks that needs to be welded by a hot screwdriver. BTW, nice start, Joe.
