Apparently this way of "model making" is gaining popularity, just wondered what everyone else thinks.

What's the point of buying a kit if you aren't gonna build it???

Just pay someone else to build it for you.

It may be a new trend but it's one I'm going to buck. I can see laying the paint and decals down before assembly could be a good thing, but once you start gluing parts together, things could get messy and you're back to touching up paint that you wouldn't have needed to touch up. Not to mention the possibility of screwing up the decals which you might or might not be able to replace...
Yeah, I'll keep doing things Old School.

This looks like entry level to get kids like Korbin interested in the hobby, nothing more. But then again, I could be wrong.

Ski, you might be right. I've seen this kind of thing with other companies and yes, they called it a quick build introductory model for kids.
Me, I don't need the extra help so I'll keep enjoying the Old School models.

With a nicer frame it could be a presentation / trophy piece at a contest. ie. "BEST BRITISH FIGHTER PLANE ", ...............Or how deep of a frame box would you need for a NASCAR car? Cheers

Is that an actual kit in a frame or a picture of one? Better have flawless joints...something I do not recall Airfix kits having altho it's been many years since I've tangled with something from this manufacturer. In any event, can't say as I'd be interested
