The Dragon kit (6181) built as the gun might have looked late war after getting the longer barrel installed.
Overall, I would say I'm only moderately happy with this build. To me, it fell far short of my expectations (always high), particularly given the build took up my entire workbench for approximately 10 months. While this wasn't the only thing occupying my time for those 10 months, it was the only model project I had going. As you can see, I decided not waste more time with the Trumpeter figure set. In addition to my general dissatisfaction with the build, the figures are quite bad and not worth the effort. Thanks for looking in and following along. Until next time...

What a Monster Gun Barrel. Give it to Uncle Night Shift. He could jazz it up a bit.

From what I see it turned out quite well, what is it ya don't like? Perhaps you've been looking at it too long, maybe you'll look at it in a couple weeks and it'll seem better...I do that all the time.
I hear you about the Trumpy figures tho, they've never been the best and I cannot lay blame for your not wanting to waste time on them.
It's good brother time to start a quick instant gratification build of a week or two
Regards, Mark

Thanks for looking in, Joe, Bruce, and Mark.
Mark, as for details, it's hard to point to anything specific. I guess it's more of a lot of little things that all contribute to my feelings. For example, while I'm very happy with some of the PE details and what they add to the build (i.e. the tool clamps, etc.) there are a LOT of PE parts that I could have easily left off, used the plastic parts, and not wasted - in a couple cases - literally weeks of time. Also, because of the time taken in construction, I didn't put forth the same level of effort as I normally would to the painting and weathering of the model...and to me, it shows. There are a few other little things as well.
Thanks again for looking in...

Like the others Robert I think you've done a great job, we're often our own worst critics

Well, you may not like it much, but I would be thrilled to have a model that looks that good! I doubt I could do much better.
