00827-1971 Plymouth GTX *UPDATE 10/8/21*

What started out as a quick build, has become a bit challenging! Started a few weeks back, I was going to paint it Tawney Gold, but while I was looking to see if I had the paint for my 1/48 PV1 Ventura I stumbled across some old, (really really old), Dupli-Color touch up paint, (remember the square bottles), 2 of which were 1977 Chrysler Coffee Sunfire. Well that saved my soul from the devil, and a few bucks too!! while I was at the IPMS- SHENANGO VALLEY AREA SCALE MODELERS swap meet I found a set of wheels that would look marvelous on this car, (the wheels are from Z's wheels). I wasn't wrong, (at least to me), but, (there's always a BUT), when mocked up the front was high and in the rear the body was sitting on the tires, I adjusted the height on the front and got it where I wanted it, on the rear It took a bit more than an adjustment, I had to narrow the rear, open the inner fenders and thin the inside of the quarters so that the tire would fit inside. Today I finished the foil work, (the rockers), and applied the final coats of clear.

The rear wheels look like they're in the body but the other side isn't.


Got the nose down and the rear tucked in. you can see where I had to grind down the rear inner fender for clearance.


The final coats of clear!




And a question for the MOPAR guys, what color would the dash and consul be in a Tan interior?

I had to mock it up one more time for the club meeting last night.
This time with the bumpers on it.
