I'm sure you remember the Matchbox race car transport from back in the day. Either wanted one or was lucky enough to own one.
OK, I didn't hack up the one in the photo but I did use one that was pretty well played out by some young kid years ago. I got the idea while looking at some F1 photos from around the mid sixties and I just had to do it. The top is covered in plastic sheet and some rod for a rail and the RCA TV camera I scratch-bashed out of bits of plastic.
The old style "Beam" antenna and mast are shown in the lowered transport position. It can be raised to transmit position also.
As I finish this up, I will shoot it in some ugly Beige and Brown, add some ABC Sports on the side or maybe just simply use BBC TV. I can place this by my other transports and Matchbox Lotus, BRM and Ferrari F1 models and it will be 1964 all over again. I enjoy these toy rescues but my old eyes and arthritic fingers suffer. I might HAVE to get old but I'll darn well refuse to grow up.

A great project! I'll keep an eye on it! I really like the last sentence in your post, too!
