I have a whole bunch of thick walnut. I found a piece that I thought might look nice as the bottom half of a two AB holder I never use. Besides airbrushing it's been a while since I did any wood working. It didn't help I had to use an old round-over bit either so there are some flaws. To do more a new bit is a must. I chucked the shaft up in a drill and used Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish on a rag to shine it up a bit. I used satin clear as the top coat on the base. It came out decent I think. Something I didn't notice when I was cutting it, there is a crack through the bottom, going part way up the side. I may have to make another one. I'm fairly certain the crack will grow worse over time. I have enough walnut. I plan to use this as a display stand for a couple ABs I have without a case, a Paasche Raptor and Vision. The two in the pics are a new addition.

That turned out cool! If you glued the wood together it might be enough to keep it from cracking further...

I've looked at that Joe. The crack doesn't spread open for me to put glue into it. I thought I had posted a pic of the bottom in my original post but apparently I did not. It's there now. Gives me a good reason to do more woodwork though

Thank you AG.
I'm thinking I may try to design some of my own. I don't have another metal holder like this one but if I can design something that will work, and look nice, I may build it entirely from wood.

That's a great idea. I haven't got an ab holder and I've fought many battles against the pistol on my desk, most of the time I've lost (the paint inside the cup).

That's a great idea. I haven't got an ab holder and I've fought many battles against the pistol on my desk, most of the time I've lost (the paint inside the cup). I need to design two different types. The one I made here is for display. With the two ABs on it it should be pretty well balanced so it won't topple over. To make one for use it needs a wider/heavier base. I would like to design one where it wouldn't need clamped to use. It would look better. The hose connected is the deciding factor. I'm going to look through the wood I have and see if any pieces spark my imagination. I'll try to design a single AB holder and a two AB holder. I love the Euro use of the word pistol for airbrushes. There is a German "Airbrushpistole" I'd like to get. They just don't seem to make it across the pond. What AB do you have AG?

I have a Harder&Steinbeck Infinity, very happy with it.

Also have one, HS. My best brush. Don't think there's any getting around a clamp for the brush holders, unless they find a way to get rid of the air hoses.
