Hi fellow modelers. My name is Woody and I live in Israel. I'm 69 and I've been building plastic and balsa models since I was 6 years old. For many years I built and flew radio control planes but have recently come back to building plastic scale models. I build cars mainly but have just completed an f14 Tomcat in a diorama setting and I'm now starting a Meng Merkava mk 4 for my one son who served in one for a year while in the IDF. My inspiration comes from looking at the stunning work of artists like Chuck Doan and from forums like this one where modelers show off their fine artistic work and help others like myself learn the craft of 3D art. I'm very often blown away by the weathering techniques which make the models so exquisitely real. So, I the student, sit at the feet of so many masters humbly learning whatever I can to touch my models with those artistic strokes that bring them to life.

I keep getting an annoying pop-up on my screen saying "your thread count has not been set" Can anyone help me get rid of this please?

Howdy Woody, and welcome aboard, good to see you here. There's a ton of "paint sniffers and finger gluers" here building the entire spectrum of kits. So, strap in for the ride and post em when ya got em, we'd love to see em. I'm one of the seasonal "paint sniffers", but I check in as often as I can. Great bunch here, enjoy.

Welcome Woody! I am too much of a basic out of box modeler so I won't be teaching you anything; but there are numerous Masters here that will give you plenty of new knowledge, insight and techniques. I'm just that guy that overwhelms with quantity....
