On this day 23rd Aprill AD 303 St.George the patron Saint of England,Turkey,Spain,Portugal (to name a few) died. I try to celebrate this day although it has been frowned upon in the UK for many years. Also on this day 53yrs ago my regiment The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers was formed from an amalgamation of the 5th,6th,7th and 20th of foot which meant that up until a few years ago upwards of 3 Battalions worth of men (1,950 if on full strength) would be having more than a few drinks so from me to you all Happy St.Georges day.
