If you've read my posts you probably know I like airbrushes. Just a look at my signature line will tell you. I have a small collection of ABs. I was buying older and unusual ones. Since the advent of the trigger stop I've discovered a whole new world. I know that controlled use of the trigger is the correct way to go. It's been 15 years or so since I used an airbrush on a regular basis. I've been using rattle cans, and I am fairly good using them. Years of practice LOL. I want to get back into airbrushing so I made a few purchases. This is one. It is a Thayer & Chandler Vega 2000. Badger bought T&C and still carries the Vega line but Badger does not drill the holes in the shell as T&C did. That's how you can tell the difference. I haven't done much modeling as I've learned that parts from different airbrushes can work together, at least for the most part. I have been researching what fits what and, if I have them on hand, I will try putting them together. The first pic shows the Vega as it comes. Bad lighting as the handle is a dark rose color. Almost burgandy. The second pic shows it with a Krome handle and Krome/Sotar finger rest. Third pic is with a Renegade handle. Fourth pic shows the handles but the adjusting screw on the Krome handle has an aluminum tube extension that I had to fabricate to get the trigger stop to work properly. I plan to use this brush for water based paints only. I've always kept different brushes, one for water base and a different one for solvent base.

I don't have my paint booth set up yet and I still need a dehumidifier for where I'll be spraying once I build the booth. I may try to find some lacquer retarder as it would be good to have anyway. I still need to spray models outside. I don't really have a good place to do that. I have something besides models I want to practice on .
