Mark, I did give it the Tiger treatment. I wanted this tank in my collection for awhile. And to answer Jed's comment about not being hidden; During the Korean War General Ridgeway encouraged his tankers to paint faces of tigers and demons on the front of their tanks. Word had gotten out that the Chines and Koreans had superstitions and fears of cats and demons so the idea was to intimidate the enemy with these faces to give our troops that much more of an edge against them. No empirical evidence exists to determine whether they really worked or not, but we did still win. Looking forward to seeing this progress; it is already a stunning model!

Thank you gents Today's post PD hunting efforts were focused on the base which is now ready for finish painting. All bases I do are now given a good coat of flat black once everything's been stuck to them except the figures and vehicles, the preshade makes the final product much better in terms of depth and tonal variation. I learned and stole this trick from the Czech guy on YouTube, Martin Kovacks whom, like our BravoJohn is a wizard with paint. I may try to texture the sides of the base with what I've not figured out yet just to see how it looks Regards, Mark

OK so the M-46 is done
Did not turn out as well as Armorguy's M-47, another of out paint wizards guess I gotta practice, practice, practice. The danger of leaving a project and not coming back to it for awhile are illustrated here, I seem to have skipped the base sides final filling and smoothing. Did not catch it 'till the paint was going on oh well I'll have to live with it or make another base. I think it'll be the former. I'll be doing something else next as I'm getting tired of Army green. Don't know what just yet but I got it down to two choices Regards, Mark

Thanks Jed Duke nice of you to say but I'm pretty sure I'm not up to par with the paint wiz crowd; those guys seem to have technique down in their sleep. Thanks also I do have another project which is to go thru my '94 Toyota pickup before it gets to -20 out in the garage, been running poorly as of late and since I am pathetic and cannot make up my mind I'll start both of these and maybe run them side by side 'till the end That oughta make for a janky mess, eh? Regards, Mark
