I never knew Iran had a submarine force until I was cruising eBay one evening and ran cross this kit made by OKB Grigorov. These are resin and are packed two to a box. They were just too cool to pass up so, well, here they are. For 1/700 scale they are very well detailed ( and delicate). I figured I would be doing good if I could get one of the two put together without screwing it it up, but somehow I managed to get both done. These subs have two main paint schemes, and so I was able to depict both. The lower hulls are Tamiya NATO black with Tamiya Green over top, and Tamiya Rubber Black with a turquoise craft paint over top. The top colors were airbrushed and the lower hulls were brushed. I was not happy with the turquoise one the first time around, so the paint was stripped off and the sub repainted. The display cradels are photo etched and come in the kit, I replaced the snorkels with ones made from Albion Alloys micro telescoping tube as the kit ones weren't great.
