I finally finished this one up. Not a bad kit, but typical short run kit; a fair bit of fiddling to get the interior to fit, butt joins, and the ground dolly the aircraft sits on was molded with the axel on the wrong side, so if assembled as is the belly of the plane would sit on the wheels of the dolly instead of the cradle! I scratch built a new axel and mounted it to the bottom of the dolly instead of the top. I also gave up on getting the injection molded canopy in the kit to fit, and bought the separate vac canopied instead, which worked out much better. Not a bad kit, but definitely a labor of love (or hate?) towards the end.
Paint was mostly Xtracolor that I have had for years, probably from the first batch imported into the U.S. back in the mid / late 90's. I finally have found a thinner that works with it and causes it dry in a reasonable amount of time. Works great now and I am sorry I gave a bunch of it away over the years
The green bad is RLM 23 from an old bottle of Polly Scale acrylic, and the funky late war RLM 76 variant on the fairing below the wing is AK Real Colors. I like the way that paint sprayed, just not sure I totally agree with their interpretation of the color though. The decals are from the kit, with the stencils from old Micro Scale sheets and Eduard sheets. I also added a Wk. Number decals to the base of the vertical tail.
