Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
However, mine has been perfectly 2020 thus far!
To start, it's always just my Mother and I for meals like this and on Tuesday, the heating element in her oven shorted out! The technician went to her house yesterday, but of course, they didn't have one in stock and it was back-ordered from Maytag. So, it was up to me to cook the bird. Mom still wanted to eat at her place (bigger table, all the "little side dishes", etc.) so she brought the stuffed turkey over here this morning. Literally as I was adjusting the oven racks, we hear a huge BANG! from somewhere outside and the power goes out...I'm not kidding! Some driver hit a power pole out on the main drag off of which my power comes. He didn't snap it, but it did pop the transformer. So for nearly an hour I sat here panicking until at last, the power came back on!
Hopefully nothing else goes wrong and everyone else has a MUCH smoother day! This is obviously 2020!!!
All the best...

Many Turkey lives were spared this year or at least put on hold.

Happy belated Thanksgiving to all! It has been more than crazy this year...I am sure for all parties involved. After losing my job in March after 36 years of work, my mom suffered a stroke in July, so have been up in her apartment taking care of her since then...which has been a blessing that I lost my job! Who knows what the next year brings, but I hope and pray that you all can hold your loved ones close, because that is what matters anyhow....love to all of you and hope to get back to modeling one of these days

Wow Robert, it sounds like you had a very similar Thanksgiving to mine! Glad it all worked out eventually.
The good thing for me on Thanksgiving was going to Mass to give thanks to God for all He's done for me and mine. Afterward, my church was giving away all manner of pastries and dinner rolls. I was able to bring home a huge apple pie, cheese danishes and two large bags of dinner rolls. For dinner, we had turkey and prime rib both at my brother-in-law's house, after we fixed the flat tie on my wife's car!
Dan, I'm praying for you and your mom too. I'm glad you are at least able to stop in and keep in touch with us here.
