It's a Diamond, based on the grill alone (I'm 90% sure), but the model eludes me at the moment...I'll look into it some more.

Thanks brotha, a Diamond. It's the mud guards looking kinda odd to me.

Hold up...
Now I'm not so sure. There were so many different manufacturers and even the same manufacturer could have different fender designs based on the year, light arrangement, and mud guards.
I'll keep looking...I love a mystery!!!

The lack of 8 wheels in the back with that box cab are throwing a me curveball... most trucks of that size were not only 4 wheels in the back... hummm...

Yes, Joe. It's obviously a 1.5 and not a deuce and a half...pretty sure. I just can't nail down the exact model yet...
EDIT: 4:00pm - I think I need to call it a day on this one. I've spent a solid hour+ trying to track this down and haven't had any luck yet. Maybe some early morning (my time) well rested brain cells will help...sorry.
EDIT #2: 5:00am - Looking at this from a new perspective, I immediately ran into a contradiction. To me, that bumper code says A4 which should (unless I'm way off) make this a truck belonging to the 4th Armored Division. If that's true, then the caption indicating it's from Market Garden comes into question because the 4th Armored did not participate in that operation.
However, in any case, I'm still unable to nail down a specific model for this thing. It has elements of a Mack EH, but some things don't jive with that. Other elements look like a Studebaker, others like a Diamond, and others like a Chevrolet. I can't find anything (YET!) that ties everything together...but I'm not giving up!!!

Guys and Robert in particular, an enormous big thank you for the research on this odd wheelie. It remains a mistery for now but please don''t break your neck over it.

Interesting stuff. Most people think an Army truck is an Army truck. But I do recall when I was in the Guard in the mid 70s, we had 5 or 6 jeeps, and each one was different. I was a mechanic/driver and they were a real challenge to keep maintained.
Glad you got this one tracked down.
