This is a shout-out for 2 YouTube channels that I am finding to be phenomenal references for history in general and WW2 specifically. I subscribe on YouTube to both of them.
For those interested in general military history including WW1, the inter-war years, and other subjects, there's this channel:
This was the original channel and it has some interesting videos. Supposedly they also have very active and interesting Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts. However, since I don't do social media, I can't vouch for this.
For those modelers interested specifically in WW2 history, the Time Ghost History channel broke off a separate channel just for this:
The hook with this channel is that they post one video each week (usually) as it happened during WW2 -- WW2 In Real Time. So, for example, this week they will be posting a video covering the third week of October 1941. Yes, this means they will be covering Pearl Harbor in less than 50 days! A video they posted today said that they will be doing some ground-breaking and comprehensive coverage of America's entry into the war. Supposedly, on one of the social media sites for this channel, they actually do WW2 Minute by Minute updates during key events...fascinating.
The archival footage on both of these channels is outstanding and I pause the short videos - usually 15 minutes each or so - quite often to double check details.
Hopefully some of my fellow military modelers find these channels useful.

Just in case anyone is interested.
During their regular weekly "WWII in Real Time" YouTube video, the channel updated their plans for December 7th.
On that fateful morning, beginning at just after 6:00am Hawaii Time, their channel will be live streaming on YouTube for 5 straight hours, updating the attack on Pearl Harbor minute by minute using a combination of archival footage, voice actors, cutting edge video simulations, and the regular hosts.
I'll probably post a link to the live stream on that morning in Bucky's Hangout...

Sty: The Tank Museum channel is one of my "Subscriptions" on YouTube. I agree, it's a great channel with a lot of great content for military modelers.
Bruce: I don't subscribe to The Chieftain's Hatch channel, but do watch those videos on a case-by-case basis...good stuff overall.
Good to see others also use these valuable resources.
