Hello again, everyone, While it should not have taken two weeks, finishing up all the painting on the build took a little longer than normal because I took my time and was distracted with several side-projects. However, as of this morning, I think all the base painting is complete and I can now move on to weathering. Here are a few photos showing the progression of the process. After the streaking and fading, the next step was adding scratches and chips: Next up was the painting of all the details like the exhaust, MG ports, tools, jacks, wheels, and tracks: That brings us to this point, with all the hatches open and painting done: Now it's time for weathering. I've actually waffled a bit on both whether to do a worn winter scheme and the amount of weathering overall. I'm really itching to get to the next build and don't want to rush or ruin what has thus far turned out to be quite satisfying. I suppose we'll see what happens. Until next time...

What Tony said, sublime green shades and chipping. But I thought sublime was that color on my Dodge Challenger I built and other MOPARS in the 70's?

Wow Robert! I would have considered this done already! That's the difference between a Master and a novice like me. Way to go Robert!

Thanks for looking in and for the comments, everyone! Following the delay from the holidays, I finally got back to the build and over the past week or so, managed to give it a look that I'm pretty happy with. The idea is that the winter (and the Winter War with Finland) is over, it's now March or April 1940, and the crew has done a quick cleaning of the complete winter white wash. Over the next week or so, the remaining white wash - mostly around hinges and in crevasses - has been allowed to gradually wash away naturally with rainfall. That leaves us with this look (bearing in mind that the model has not been weathered yet): The first shot gives an overall impression while the next two show close-up views of a fender area and the turrets. I may still go back and add just a touch more of the effect, but I'm actually pretty happy with the look as-is. I think once the lower hull is given a heavy weathering and some of the weathering is added to the upper surfaces, everything will come together quite nicely. Hope you like what you see! Until next time...

I like the range of green shades on this tank so much! The whitewash touches enhance the green, just stunning.

Hi Robert,
I have never built Armor before, Having been an IPMS member I've seen and appreciated them, but to see your WIP is an educational treat. Those tracks look so intimating, but when they are done, wow. And seeing your paint work, and weathering is amazing. Thank-You so much for inspiring me to keep building cars and motorcycles and such. LOL
