We had a wild finish last month!
Everybody came in second, except Nico!!
His fabulously painted bust took top honors,
and is "Riding The Top" on the home page.

Maybe we should consider more than one entry per person. That would certainly increase the number of entries. Still, I have noticed a slight downturn in number of posts on this site compared to some other Fora I frequent. Still, there are good reasons for that certainly. I would love to see more active participants join us too so we can increase the number of outstanding models for these events.

One per person per month makes it so one person isn't the whole show... as far as lack of posting, try posting more if you feel we are lacking in posts. Comment more on other peoples threads which encourages others to post more and builds up friendships.
Never compare other forums as each is an individual group and doesn't have the same dynamics, I belong to one that is basically one guy doing all the work but the site is an amazing wealth of knowledge for the subject the forum is about.

Wow, I feel suitably slapped down. I meant no disrespect to these boards in my comparisons or anything else. I never knew comparing boards was so highly discouraged. I have been trying to post more as well, with my limited time it ain't so easy. I certainly wasn't criticizing anyone for not posting more; just observing that more and more people seem to be busier and it is showing.
Okay, I'm going back to the workbench now...

It is far too easy to compare myself or the forum or group I belong to with others but it isn't healthy. I find that usually there is a way to improve myself or what I see as lacking in a group by being more involved instead of being part of the problem by just pointing to what I see as the problem and not being more involved to fix it... time is a precious commodity to us all, some seem to have more time while in all honesty we all have the same number of hours in a day. Its what we do with that time and our priorities. I try to invest myself in others as much as possible with two jobs and home things to take care of plus running a few forums and farcebook pages. I know many who aren't working at all and yet are always too busy to do things and get involved, we see them everywhere. Mark if you reread my comment up above about participation that seemed to get you going you will see it wasn't directed at you as I know you have entered and voted many times... it says, "It was fun for sure but we need more participation from all members here in the voting... also more entrants would be fun! Thanks Bucky for putting this together for us!!!" It was directed to those who don't enter or vote to become involved for the fun and support of our forum. If you feel slapped or guilty for not being so involved that is your choice to deal with in a positive way or not. We all have the same number of hours in a day and choose how to spend them around our jobs, homes and busyness... Build models, post your work, comment on others and have fun, that is what it is supposed to be about and that is why our forum is here!  |
