Online Scale Modelers turned nine years old yesterday. Thanks to all who have been with us from the start, and those who have joined in along the way. It's hard to compete with the huge forums that exist, and also Facebook, but we have been rocking right along. Many thanks to the great builders for posting WIP threads, offering building tips, and presenting pics of the fantastic results. You folks have helped me to become a better model builder.
Thanks for making this a great place, and keep on building!

That means this Forums is now ten years old. I like Forums like these better than Facebook anyway; at least here you can always see follow-on replies and carry on conversations. Since we made it to ten years now, maybe we can have a ten year group build, if we haven't already started one.
It could work like this:
Everyone can choose a model (or similar model) that they built ten years ago and try building it again as a comparison to what you did a decade ago. For this who haven't been here for the full ten years; they can look back to when they first started and choose a model from back then. Pics of the previous model could be posted along with pics of the new comparison model as a start point.
Just a crazy idea. Don't mind me, I'll get back to the bench now....

I've quit Facebook years ago so this is the only model forum I have. I haven't been on in awhile, but hope to catch up on some of the lost time. I don't have a place to build right now, up at mom's apartment,.but maybe one day...😃

Dan, I'm just glad you're back and still posting. Nothing else matters. However, as Joe said, your magnificent work is missed so hopefully you'll be able to work something out soon.

Duke, I think this is a fantastic idea. It can be posted in the Group Build section near the bottom of the forum. (I have one I started ten years, but have yet to finish it. Does that count?) LOL

Bucky that could work too. I do need to see what I did about ten years ago and see if I have another in my stash to do. Your idea works as well. Does this mean we will give this idea a go?

Had to look up first what I did in 2012... a BTR-60P from Trumple-deer (*Link*) The memories on that one are not faded enough, I'm afraid, so I don't feel like visiting it again, LOL!
It's not a bad kit all in all, but gave me enough troubles. There's another version(s) lingering in my stash, however.

Thank you Joe. I'm happy with the overall result, as I did achieve the look I was aiming for and it even got me a silver award in the Oberschleißheim exhibition that same year. It has however a few spots I don't like at all. Not everything is kit related, but some were also my own inability. Still, my credo is: 'the day I build a perfect model, I'll quit!'

Nice work Tobi! I also can't see anything wrong with that. It's better than any of the BTR's I ever finished! Brilliant!
Gotta go check on the Group Builds boards to see if this idea was posted or not.
