I received this message from the seller of the "Stinger Corvette" I just won on eBay. Under normal circumstances, I would have blurred out the names, usernames, and/or other personal contact info. In this instance, I feel it's necessary to INCLUDE that information. Once you read this, it will become clear.
For anyone NOT familiar with eBay complaint rules, a buyer has 30 days to complain about an item and demand a refund. Now, SUPPOSEDLY, if you paid for the item with PayPal, you have 45 days. I'm not about to test that 15 day difference, for sure. Either way, they are asking me to wait BEYOND even the 45 day limit.
Two things REALLY standout in this message. She (supposedly a she) states that, "Shipments will begin to go out when we have familiarized ourselves with his shipping process, and he has been cleared medically to proceed." First thing, exactly what "process" needs to be learned to mail a box at the Post Office? Secondly, why would she need to learn that process if they are going to wait for him to be "cleared medically to proceed"?
Loud, screaming alarms went off in my head when I read this crap. I obviously did NOT wait. I contacted "her" immediately and gave her two options. She has until five days from now to provide me with a tracking number, or she can provide me with an immediate refund in full.
I'm posting this here as a warning to all of you. Until I hear back, receive my kit, or receive a refund, it might not be advisable to try and conduct business with this individual. Even if the message is somehow true, it wouldn't be advisable to get tangled in the mess I'm in.

I'm so close to just closing my account with eBay. It's just getting worse and worse. In this instance, I have found that I have NO WAY of getting a message to eBay until after the "supposed" delivery date passes. I researched and researched and there is no way to contact them with a complaint about this.
I posted on the eBay community asking for suggestions. The very first reply told me what I needed to do and was in 100% agreement with what I had found about the 30 day money back guarantee from eBay and the 45 day period to file a complaint via PayPal. So I marked the thread as "Solved" and forgot about it. Lo and behold! I started getting absolutely BOMBARDED with emails telling me there had been more replies. I lost track, but I'm thinking 13 or 14 all total now. A couple of them absolutely insist there is a 180 day period to file a compliant via PayPal. My research indicated that 180 day period was for overcharges and similar problems. My research and the research of about half the people that replied says it's 45 days for a situation like this one.
I see a really big problem with that whole exchange of info. eBay has gotten so large and so totally screwed up, nobody knows for sure what the rules and regulations are. If 12 - 15 people have such conflicting information, doesn't that sound like a cluster? Sure does to me.
Incidentally, I sent two email messages to the "daughter" that contacted me and haven't received a reply to either one. Nothing. I see a lengthy battle to get a refund and it won't come directly from her. I'm going to have to go through the whole, ugly routine with eBay to TRY and get a refund. What a crock!
