I received an email from Scale Auto Magazine this morning. They are shutting down. The last issue is supposed to be October, 2020. In order to fulfill the subscription I had just renewed, they will send Fine Scale Modeler to my mailbox. I hate to see this magazine go.

There were quite a few guys that predicted the end of the rag a few years ago when management changed hands. The two "new" guys were difficult to deal with. They had very little interest in maintaining and improving the forum. I'm not sure how many, but quite a few guys left that forum and stopped subscribing shortly after the change in management. There was also the shift in their interests to diecasts and import/foreign/supercar articles. That drove me away.
Yep, it's pretty sad. I'm still trying to get back into the hobby, and the interest by key individuals is really hurting the hobby. I've only been back around for 3 - 4 years and I have seen quite a change. Websites closing, forums shutting down, the whole Revell thing, etc, etc. Then tack on the ridiculous pricing seen on eBay and a few other places and it seems dire. Never mind the fact that the vast majority of model builders are getting some age on us. Regardless of where your particular interests are, things like this hurt the overall hobby.

From them:
Dear Enthusiasts,
Since 1979, Scale Auto (originally Scale Auto Enthusiast) has been proud to offer the latest tips and techniques to help car modelers build the coolest, hottest, most realistic scale replicas on four wheels. While we remain committed to serving scale-auto builders, we regretfully announce we are discontinuing publication of Scale Auto magazine. October 2020 will be the final issue. However, the Scale Auto brand will live on in the pages and on the website of FineScale Modeler, where our dedicated audience of car modelers will continue to find product news, model builds, and advice from the greatest modeling experts in the world.
We thank all of our customers and partners for their support of Scale Auto over its many years, and look forward to seeing you again in FineScale Modeler.
If you have any questions, please contact customer service by email at customerservice@ScaleAtuo.info .

Been a Member there since Feb. 2007. Not very active though. After loging in and trying to start a new thread, I remember why I haven't. It's one of the most antiquated Forums out there. Change or die.
