Stripping it completely shoulda been my question too. Thank you for asking Joe.
I've used 91% IPA, Purple Power, and Super Clean but none of these take it down to bare plastic every time. I'd like to find something that will.
It's just with that first chrome coat still on it makes the part so much thicker once you primer, paint, and perhaps, clear coat.

The gaping hole in the rooftop on this Nova is for the supercharged engine: I'm not using that engine, so I needed to plug that hole: I used a piece of sheet styrene for this task. Here it is, installed in the opening: After a coat of primer, I fine tuned the filler work around the new piece: I'll shoot some more primer on it to see if it is smooth enuff. Underneath, I stuck the rear suspension pieces together: Also, I have the engine ready to go: I'm not trying to super-detail this build. It's gonna be a shelf-sitter, and I hope it looks good enuff to be near the TOP SHELF! HAHAHA

A simple, six piece rear suspension: It was a little fiddly going together, because there are no actual positive location points for the parts.

It started raining while I was spraying the primer. Got a couple spots, but it was only the first coat.

Any old electrical stuff that you can strip the wires out of works... radios, tools, etc... Them cheap earbuds and USB cords work good for getting small wires out of. It seems like I always have a ton of that stuff laying around.

Sorry it's been a while since I posted.
I moved. I found a place to store my stuff. I started with my model collection primarily. It is now buried well into the back of my storage unit. It will be a while before I get to it. Perhaps a month???
I didn't intend to let yinz down here. I had to take the opportunity as it was presented. I'll be back up at some point.

That's what I like about open ended group builds. I'm usually the last one finished.

I think I stand a good chance to beat you all to the last to finish something . I moved into a much smaller place. I don't have any type of work bench set up yet. The one I had been using is some what large, and also buried. I may be able to use something else, at least for a while. Dunno yet.
