Of course USPS gets a lot of undeserved blame. We have become a "point the blame at someone else" society but that's an entirely different subject that we need not go into.

I've been watching my ROKU channel and I do like the USPS advertisement they have running. Looks great. I also am good friends with my mail carrier "Pops".

Well perhaps I got my hopes up too soon. Another week and still no tape. There is only one reason for that I can think of. I had sent my inquiry on Saturday night the 9th. He said he'd ship it first thing Monday. He must have forgotten about it by then?!?
I plan to ask the seller one more time if I will be getting my order. I figure to contact the seller first thing tomorrow (Monday the 18th) as maybe it will get shipped. I ordered the tape to use on my funny car for the mini group build. I'm gonna need tape. Depends on how it goes I may have to look for an alternate source.
I'll keep yinz posted.

I'm thinking Amazon is going to have to reimburse you and cancel that order...

I'd still like to give 'em one more chance.
I'm no tape expert but pretty much all the very narrow tape I had found is vinyl. I'm not a fan. What this order is is what the seller called crepe in the listing. It seems like this would be closer to the masking tape I am used to. Then again, I might be wrong.

Tamiya tape in a thinner width would probably be your best bet...

I was going to post this on my FC build thread but perhaps here might be better. I am thinking in scale. The tape I ordered from Amazon is 1/64th and 1/32. I will just use 1/64th in this example. I am NOT a math whiz but I can do some easy math. I can also use a calculator and I know how to find conversions on the internet for inches, decimals and metric . Tape in 1/64th would be a 1/4" wide stripe in 1 to 1 scale. This to me is just a tad wider than a typical pinstripe. I would think that this thin of a tape would do curves fairly easy but that I won't know 'til I get it. Being easier to curve is the reason I picked the crepe over vinyl. Again, I won't know if my guess about it is correct in that it may be more like regular masking tape until I'd get it, if I do get it. I looked at the Tamiya tape offerings. The narrowest I found was 2mm in their "curve" line. 2mm is about 1/16th of an inch in US dimensions. In 1/16th scale that would be a 1" tape stripe. Imagine a tape width of 1/8th, normal for 1 to 1 scale as I have some. To get that same width in 1/16th you would have to cut that piece of 1/8th tape into 16 same size strips. I know I can't do that. I do have an idea on how I might try to do it but I have not figured out how to get a consistent width. Does this make sense?

Here is the newest update on the continuing saga of my Amazon order. I contacted the seller again as I had not received my order after they said it would ship Monday the 9th. This was the response.
I remeber the order and we did reship with exrat rolls the tracking shows it was recived. We dropp our packages off and for some reason they dont scan or to light beliver it or not they consider it a leter and not a package. Im truly sorry yu never recived. We will rufund in full.
I got my refund.
By chance I put the original tracking number in the USPS system. This is what it shows:
April 28, 2020 Pre-Shipment Info Sent to USPS, USPS Awaiting Item
This also showed up:
May 13, 2020, 4:40 pm USPS in possession of item ROSLINDALE, MA 02131
And this:
May 17, 2020 In Transit to Next Facility Your package is moving within the USPS network and is on track to be delivered to its final destination. It is currently in transit to the next facility.
This is how I interpret this:
For the seller to ship the extra rolls means that they were still in the possession of the original label because it is the label created for my purchase initially.
The USPS did receive the package on the 13th.
It is now somewhere in the possession of the USPS and at some point may be delivered.
With all due respect to your wife and her employer Joe, it's shown no movement since the 17th.
Then the dilemma of if I get it, in good/usable condition, do I try to pay for it again?
It's the Nightmare on Amazon Street.

I would contact the post office and find out what the holdup is by giving them the tracking number. This happened to me and I got to keep the package for free even though I contacted the seller and said it had finally showed up. I agree that they never sent the first order...

I think I need to wait to contact USPS until it at least gets scanned again. The message from the 17th reads like it is on a truck...somewhere, headed...somewhere. It may not be toward Pittsburgh.
I recently bought an item off eBay. The seller was on the eastern side of Pennsylvania. It went to San Bernardino California. Granted, this was on a Friday. It showed a Monday delivery and by gosh, it came Monday so kudos to them. But still?
