Hi, my name is Jim and I live just a bit south of Pittsburgh Pa. I have been a member of the Model Car Magazine forum for a good while. I found Steve's new Model Car Marketplace and joined up. I saw a post by Bucky on the Marketplace site to this forum so that is how I found it. My user name comes from my (current) avatar. Death Proof Nova Model. It is the same one I use on all 3 forums. I’ve been into scale modeling on and off since the 80s. My main interest in scale are things that go in a straight line. At the top is tractor pulling (yes, I'm a bit odd). Fortunately there have been some kits for me to use. I also like drag racing. Add in semi trucks and motorcycles.
I see that scale trains are discussed here. Another one of my interests. I do mostly HO and I’ve got a few engines left. My favorite road is the old Monongahela Railroad (MRY). It was local and they had Shark-nose Baldwins. My favorite diesel.
Woodworking is discussed here too. I took my train layout down to move in woodworking tools. I’ve got a full size table saw, a couple scroll saws, bench mount band saw and a number of routers. I also came across some 4/4 to 10/4 walnut. I’ve got more walnut than I will ever use I’m sure.
One thing I haven’t seen discussed (at least yet, I just joined and haven’t looked through a lot of posts) is airbrushes. It is another of my collection addictions, I buy, sell and trade them. I have started to try to keep my collection to vintage, uncommon, unique and unusual ones. If I come across any at a really good price I will buy them to resell or trade them. I was out of work for two months not long ago so I had to sell off a lot of my model kits, trains and airbrushes. I’m working again and am slowly building my “stashes” back up.
Sorry to be so long winded. I’m glad I’m here and I look forward to contributing.

The trains I'll have to dig out. I have a couple Shark nose diesels IIRC. I also have 3 or 4 Mantua/Tyco 4-6-0 ten wheeler's. They are all taken apart.
I'll post once I get some together to take pics of.

And it seems like I mentioned everything EXCEPT models. Hmmmm...I'm old.
My model tastes are a bit...different. For the most part I like things that go in a straight line. Probably my main interest, in scale, is tractor pulling. Fortunately there have been a few kits of this genre that I keep an eye out for. I am also into drag cars. FEDs, don't care much for the rear engine ones, funny cars, Gassers, 70s & 80s Pro Stocks etc. I like motorcycles, big rig semi's, and mostly 70s cars and pick ups. I was old enough to drive in the early 70s and this was when, IMO, they made some of the best looking, fast vehicles.
Sorry, I have nothing against them but I'm not into armor or ships. There is one airplane I look for. It's a 1/24 Stuka (either Go Big or Go Home, right?). I refuse to pay eBay prices for one but I know I can find one at a good price at some point. I had wanted a 1/24 Huey UH-1. I found one on eBay for less than $30 shipped. I jumped on it. Deals can be found if you wait long enough. I was in the right place at the right time. Rare for me. Usually I'm a day late and a dollar short.
I have more WIPs than I can shake a stick at.

Not to offend you, I have two builds that I signed up for on the MCM forum. The biggest challenge has to be done by August 1st. The other November 1st. I need to paint outside. The main reason is my Best Buddy. He doesn't need to catch a lacquer buzz. I had thought of switching to water based paint but I have used lacquer so long and I know what I can and can't do with it. Water based would be a whole new learning curve with a lot of experimentation. I'm trying to design a paint booth for my basement Don't have a lot of room but I should have the previously mentioned woodworking tools that I'll need. JCON, you have a pretty cat. I like the long haired. Pic of my best friend: This was taken a few years ago. He's gotten more handsome since.

Thank you. He's the best. If you enlarge the pic, all I do is left click it twice, he will be about life size. He's a large cat.

A very pretty cat! I have two outdoor cats. They can't behave inside, so they have free range in the yard! LOL
By all means, post your builds here too, if you have enough time between glue shots!! HAHAHA
