my wife recently found these pictures of her dad during his national service days, 1957-1960/61 hevwas the CO's driver which I often ribbed him telling him awfull soldiers became the CO's driver as they could only be trusted to make tea!! It's possible that the officer in the cap is the CO, the chap at the back is my father in-law (RIP) Nite this vehicle has markings on the rear and side whereas the next one has smoke dischargers on the side, the CO shouldn't be far enough forward to need them I guess.

I always like seeing pictures like these. Its funny I have a bunch of my own service pics, and I have noticed that the vehicles change,, the uniforms change,, but the one thing that never changes in all the photos is the faces. Always the same. funny!!

I love seeing pics like these Jed! I do appreciate your father-in-law's service. Many thanks Duke I'm sure my father in-law would appreciate your comment although I'm pretty certain he wouldn't have volunteered,he had a brother who also did national service and again wasn't a particularly willing soldier!! The third brother was the Bishop of Newcastles driver and was exempt from national service.
