Actually in the 70's I did outrun a cop in my 65' Comet on the 14 freeway in southern California... dumbest thing I ever did but I did get away with it, ha, ha!!! He got me on his radar doing around 90mph as he was headed the other way and flipped on his light and whipped around through the median... I sped up and hit it fast, seeing a big motor home up ahead and knowing the road coming towards Palmdale, zipped to his right side just as the cop turned around and I zipped down the off ramp and under the overpass, the cop sped down the freeway and never knew where I went!!! Took the back roads home from there, ha, ha!!! Red was with me and was surprised he never called other cops or came after me as my car was quite distinct, I figured he must have been from LA and didn't know my car like locals would have.   |

I've never tried! My 2nd car (Only drove the first for 1 year before I decided it was time for a truck) was a purple Ford Ranger--and the only one of it's kind in the county. 3rd car is, was, and always has been the only Yellow Sport Trac in any of the 3 counties I've lived.  (Still have ole yeller! She's 18 now and will turn over 240,000 miles this weekend!) |
