Well let me check in and give you an update.
Not much has really changed for me. Still fighting some health issues. Without going too much into it, I have days that are good, well ok, and days that are not good, well incredibly rough. I am taking meds and seeing specialists but they do not seem to be helping much. The frequency and intensity of the not so good days is becoming closer and much more intense. I can still function but if I am not working the rough days drain my energy and my will. I have talked to others that deal with the same issues and have a good support network around me. In some cases I have been helpful to others that deal with it. My building for the last several months has been of a private type, want to submit it to a magazine. I have struggled trying to keep focus when building so this is taking much longer than anticipated. I do check in on the forums but to be honest that has been irregular and inconsistent.
Now for my building. I am working on Arfix's 1/24 Spitfire MK 5B, This is a rebox of a kit produced in the early 70's. There are a few differences that are apparent in the sprus but that is the engine mostly. I have wired and added detail to the engine, cockpit, fuel cell bay, and interior. I have fashioned both tail wheel assembly and landing gear. They both work based on the weight of the kit. Much of the detail work on the interior has been fashioned but not painted. I have some modifications to do to a few of the frames but nothing extensive. I have fashioned the wing frames, I am working on the gun mounts for the .303's now. I have bounced around a bit and only the engine bay is actually 100% fashioned and painted. I am using, my guess is, around 200 pictures from google and bing searches. About two thirds of the way through the construction in the cockpit I purchased the Spitfire MK 5 Manual. It is quite frankly porn for me. It has drawings and pictures of almost anything I could wish for. It includes the drawings and diagrams of all the interior system piping and electrical.
I am also involved with the online modeling groups, The Styrene Syndicate and Reddraggon Model Werx(Hangout). We are running a figure painting contest and I have entered it. I am going to be painting a figure from one of the wargaming sets. It is a larger one and should be interesting. Due to the focus and concentration issues I have not started yet but I really need to get on it.
I have also taken advantage of the Avialogs website and downloaded 60+ technical manuals for a number of different aircraft.
Well that is my update. I have pictures of the builds but none will be shared publicly.

Almost forgot, In the November issue of Finescale Modeler the Dragon Sherman I finished last year has an article and pictures. I had known it was accepted and they have already paid for the rights but to see it printed makes it real for me. It even gained a portion of the cover.
