I pulled this "Oldie-but-Goodie" off the "Stagnation Shelf". Trying to figure out what to put in the openings........AGAIN!!! Maybe this will work: This is sort of a "floating" turn signal in the opening. Of course, there will be a headlight pod in the top opening. The grille I have here is the stock '58 Impala grille, worked down to fit the opening in the front pan. Just for kicks, I turned the signal light around in this pic: I don't think it looks as good as the other way round. Comments are welcome!

I think I may have it figured out: Mock-up with grille and turn signals in place. A little tweaking, here and there, and this should be okay.

If you don't like the gap, fill it with some flat plastic and carbon fiber decal...

HAHA! I don't think carbon fibre was around in the sixties. I've been trying for a period custom, from the early to mid sixties on this one.

Sorry, Keith, but if I'm being honest, I don't care for the look of those turn signals. I think something that mimics the shape of the opening or is at least rounded on each end would be a much better solution. I hope you don't mind me chiming in like this, but I would like folks to tell me what they think, even if they disagree with me.

Now if you could find something like the tail lights from an early 60s Valiant and just slightly angle them in the opening, that would be a custom look.

Thanks for the ideas, Eric! I've been trying different things in these gaping holes for about nine years! HAHAHAHA

I got it! Float a set of early 60's Vette bumpers over the openings? Like the 63 to 67s with the wrap around going around the fender, and the dagger going down to the roll pan. Just spit-ballin' here. Heck even an RS bumper, or bumpers rather, could work.

Take flat stock and fill the holes in from the back but glue down a bunch of thread to look like the rest of that grill before you glue them in... paint with chrome molotov pen and float your turn signals in the middle of them...

What's throwing me a curve is just that....curves! LoL Those openings are not Ed Zachary flat. They curve in a couple different directions. I may get some aftermarket screen that's more flexible than the stainless steel screen I have, and try something else.

Use sign stock... you can bend it to shape and glue it in from the back to hold...
