This is the back of the wheel, with the center section glued and clamped to it. When cured, I'll place it in the tire, and glue and clamp the outer wheel part to it. In order for the Caddy back seat fit right in the Chevy tub, I had to fill in with a bit of styrene stock, or "The White Stuff", as Nemo from Modelworx forum puts it!!!

I'm using this stainless steel mesh for the grills in this build. Pretty tough stuff. I picked these up at the local home improvement establishment. Stanley Fatmax. Cuts the mesh pretty good!

I love the looks of the chrome steering wheel in the kit! -Not to mention the "crank" they put on the chrome tree too! (How'd I'd love to get my hands on a half dozen of those because really, what good they do in the engine of a model? I wantthem to go in my Garage Dio and or my Race Teams transport trailer/pit garage.....

-I'll have to look! I remember seeing it in one kit and then I think they come in the AMT "Part packs" that Round 2 is offering..... (tyhats where I got the single one I from was from a parts pack!
I'll have to look I don't even know if I have the instructions to the kit that may have had it, BUT I think its the same Chevy kit that has the crank in it too! Or so I think.... I'm unsure too!

I think the " Miss Deal" Studebaker kit has a highly detailed 392 Hemi with one in it also.

I've been busy on this one.....well, not super busy. i work on it in between steps on other builds I have going. I have the rear axle finished. Painted with Tamiya Semi Gloss Black. Test fit to show the stance. Not too high, not too low.

One question I put out there to the guys on another site was whether to go with the fender skirts, or leave them off: So far, the 'vote' over there is, Skirts---4 No skirts---4

I like the skirts, even though those wheels are HOT.

The latest tally is: Skirts---5 No skirts---4 When I get some of the dead threads and posts removed from the forum, I'll get back on this buggy!

Thanks, Ian! They were a bit tricky to clean up. Very delicate! Fortunately, there was only a little flash to eliminate. Fiddly little spokes in there!!
