Hi all. This probably won't end well but what the heck, I will have a crack at it anyway.

Hello chaps. Bit quiet here so made a tentative start. Step 1 is engines. Image shows three pieces to each engine body but if you follow the instructions, part E22 won't fit! Caught it in time y only gluing two of the pieces but E22 doesn't fit properly anyway. More work to be done...

Chaps. Tested the fit of the engines to the fuselage, wish I hadn't as it soon became apparent that it wasn't going to be a two minute job. I won't bore you with the details but you need to do some work to get everything to play nice. Satisfied things might be ok, I will leave that element for now. Looking at the underside of the upper fuselage, you can find four pre scored access panels so with little effort you can have the engines partly exposed. Cheers

I like it, I would open at least one of the sides for the engine access panels to let the detail show...

Chaps. For those of you who have never tackled a Kitty Hawk kit, you will find issues, plenty of them. It's really frustrating as their subject choices are really good. The aforementioned issues continue with the air intakes. I wont bore you with the details but I had to spend a long time, filing, cutting and dry fittting to get close to an acceptable fit and even then they needed clamping in several places while the glue dried.

That's a bummer, Mence! I know you'll 'Git-R-Dun', tho!!
BTW....Clamps are our friends! I have about thirty of 'em in the hobby room.

I've heard that about Kitty Hawk models. Looks like you're getting it whipped!

Chaps. With the intakes in place, i felt reasonable confident that I could go for upper and lower fuselage joining. Or maybe not. The two small round openings are, err, open and they shouldn't be, being a classified aircraft, certain parts of the plane don't appear to be photographed for reference so i simply blanked them off from inside. You will also notice two small openings further forward, nthe do have parts to blank them from the inside but the instructions say fit to the outside! You have been warned...
