It's really amazing how easily plans can get derailed! A few weeks ago we had 5 days of no rain IN A ROW and I was celebrating. It was April, and for the first time in 5 years, I had not been hobbled by a broken ankle or surgery (in the previous 4 years I: broke both lower leg bones at the left ankle, tibia at the right ankle joint, had kidney stone removal and spent 3 days in the hospital because of the damage it caused to my ureter, had a 2nd cleanup surgery on my right knee and had reconstructive ankle surgery). During that 5 days I prepped my Deere for mowing season, cleaned up my outdoor project area, fixed a roof on a storage shed, built a door for that shed, cut down a tree, and got a really good jump on my summer projects.
And THEN, the pain hit... I had noticed some here and there, but I deal with pain on a daily basis so I paid it no attention at first, but the location of the pain caused some concern. After a self exam, I found a lump on each testicle. To make a long story short, those lumps are cysts that could have resulted from my vasectomy 8 years ago (The guy was a quack and I wouldn't be surprised if he messed something up) but I also have a hernia. So, I've been hampered a bit and will see the surgeon tomorrow to schedule that fix.
Also, it took me until about a month ago to put my finger on this, but I have had a migraine that has lasted for nearly this entire calendar year. It was hard for me to figure it out because there has been no pain. As the year has progressed though, the visual auras, vertigo and disorientation have gotten progressively worse. (For those of you not familiar, 5 years ago my daily preventative stopped working and I had 1200 migraines/migraine days--days dealing with pain or recovery from the migraines--over the course of 3 years. I made lifestyle and dietary changes and I was able to decrease my migraine days from 300+ a year to 80). So, I'm now in the progress of revisiting some old remedies--which aren't helping anymore--and starting the process of getting into some new programs and on new treatments.
I'm trying not to complain to much, so this post isn't that. I just wanted to update ya'all! We're planning a wedding so when I get home from work, I head to the workshop to do what I can to get some "rustic-looking" stuff made for her and keep up on the yard work, and every night I come in and sit down next to my Corvette with the plan and thought of getting it out and painting/assembling, but by the time the room stops spinning, it's time for bed. .
Trust this though: I'm on here reading through your posts every other day and keeping up as much as I can.

Thanks for the update. I kinda know what you're going through. I also have had migraines for awhile with the associated dizziness and vertigo. I'm praying for you and for a swift and full recovery. I hope you find out what is going on and get it taken care of. I just lost one great friend today; I don't need to lose any more...

Well, It's been 2 weeks since I started a monthly preventative shot. The dizziness and vertigo seem to be better already but only time will tell. As far as other things, the docs say I do NOT have a hernia now. So, the pain I'm feeling is most likely those cysts and some fluid build up. I'm NOT looking forward to having them drained! Have you SEEN the needle they use for draining cysts? Had them drained in my foot and that was bad enough, but to drain them in the jewels?!?!? I'm going to ask if they can put me under full anesthesia! haha!
However, I figure it can't be any worse than the experience with my vasectomy... That doctor gave me a local and then immediately started cutting. The local kicked in 30 minutes later. My wife made him stop for a few minutes during the procedure because she could tell I was about to jump off the table and beat him down!
