So I'm dreaming that I'm driving And I pull up to a stop sign, But the car is on an incline and it's a manual stick. I depress the clutch with my left foot And push the brake with my right, But the brakes don't work And the car rolls backward. So I push the brake harder As I look in the rearview mirror And see a car coming much too fast With me moving toward it. So I push the brake even harder, But it still doesn't work As the car behind slams on its brakes And we come together... As I wake up in complete agony with my right foot pushing on the air and an incredible cramp the size of Texas in my right calf. I was out of the bed and hopping around swearing for at least 5 minutes before the severe pain stopped, but as I type this - over an hour later - the calf is still throbbing from how tight the knot was.
Nothing like trauma to make you remember a dream!

Exactly! It's obvious that I got the cramp from pushing on the brake too hard. Right?

Wow, that in intense. I also drive a stick and yet I haven't had this dream so far. My driving dream has always been more of me turning my head slightly, then turning back to see a car just ahead that suddenly appeared too close to stop before hitting it. Heat and massage should take that pain out.
And yeah, dreams like that can seem so real. Back in my high school days I dreamt that I was fighting in the Battle of the Pellenor Fields in the Lord of the Rings story. I had been hit three places by enemies that I had 'killed' in the battle; yet when I woke up; I had pain in the three places I had been 'hit'. I hadn't fallen out of bed, and these pains were in no place that sleep thrashing would have placed them. I still remember that and the dream, I was so vivid.
