The idea came to me last night that i would like to do this old menaceing truck from the movie "duel" after googling i found this excellent build thread (also signed up to the site) cs.scaleautomag.com/SCACS/forums/t/75355.aspx?PageIndex=1What an undertakeing this guy made, came out an excellent replica tho, another idea for the backburner after the road train tho, still intent on doing that, it looks a pretty easy straightforward build compaired with the duel, finding a peterbilt of the right year seems to be the main problem, like looking for rocking horse turds ;D

Dont hold your breath!! ;D it'll be a while, the truck kit i need to look out for is the old peterbilt 359 with the small window, this can then be altered to match the movie 281, scratching the tanker looks ok, apart from a small fortune in styreen sheet it's my weathering skills (or lack of them) that worries me

that's a cool build , I gave this some thought some time ago but got no further than that , this is another I would like to have a go at the truck from Jeepers Creepers there are a few problems with doing these builds other than the fact I don't know if I can do weathering ( I've never tried ) , I don't know what they are ( OK I now know the duel truck is a Peterbilt 281 ) but I have no idea what the other one is , and I have not seen a kit that looks anything like it to start with

Weathering can be as easy or hard as you make it...there are some EXCELLENT tutorials on Youtube.com on some. I don't have any links off-hand,but on the one model I weathered,I used one from there, made it simple,I did it for a '96 hour build on another site a couple years back, and finished in half the time.
That Jeepers truck...she coulda outrunned it if she wasn't a shiftless girl trying to drive a 3 speed,LOL! Would make for a sweet project,it would ;D

Cheer's, i'll check out "U Tube" Steve thanks, only "weathering" i ever did was on some of the warships, that was rust streaks and "dirty'd" with somw weathering powders (still have them) That truck from jeepers creepers looks an even more daunting task than the pete! what was it? looks like a 1940's armoured car, good film tho, always wondered what the car in the movie "the car" was based on, anyone know?, big ugly fecker the film with james brolin in it, my son bought me the dvd last year it was a 1971 lincoln continental mk111 by george barris, (just googled it)

Ahh car and truck movies we could go on and on about them. Duel is a fantastic movie if you get to build it have fun. Christine is a sweet drive as well and of course Mad Max.

Wow! lights! first time i've seen someone else do it, great, i was going to make a start on mine a while back then i saw a PE set for it and decided to wait, just didn't get round to buying the pe set, i must get my finger out and get on with it, lovely looking car that 57, even better if it repairs itself like in the film, ;D but cheat on it and it'll get nasty

Christine wouldn't be Christine without her eyes , the lights on this are powered by a 9V battery in the boot ( or that's the plan anyway )
