Hi everyone, I am HammerHead (Rick) and my wife and I are novice builders. We have a ways to go to compete with ya'll. But love to be here and love to learn new things. Hope to get to know you that I don't know and learning more from those I already know. We are from the Upstate NY area. Anyone near by?
Thanks, Rick and Kristina HammerHead and Bug

Rick, Welcome to OSM. You have joined a GREAT BUNCH of TALENTED builders here, and if you have any questions , feel free to ask. In our group, do not feel like you have to COMPETE. We are all here , for the love of the hobby & the comradrie of it. I hope to see you post some of you & your wives builds. And see you participate in the forums. Thanks for joining our forum..

As the owner and lead administrator of this small forum, allow me to extend the hardiest of welcomes to you and your wife!! Very glad to have you aboard here! As stated above, we are not so much into the competition aspect of this hobby. More like a constant learning process for us all, even those of us who have been at since the 60's. (Like myself!) Tell us how you found our forum! I'm curious to know! Thanks for joining, and have fun posting your builds and comments!!

Ya'll ain't that strange to me. Spent the last decade in Carolina. And given the chance, I will return to spend the rest of my days there. Thank you all for the nice words and hope to learn from ya'll.

Which Caroline? I went through boot camp and one of my AIT's (Infantry) in the southern Carolina, and drove 18 wheels (of terror! Mwaaahahahahahahaha! ) out of the northern Carolina (Mt Airy area) for years before I became a Mr. Mom. Small world,eh? ;D

North Carolina about 30 min west of Charlotte. And I have been to Mount Airy NC. Or as we better know it, Mayberry. The home of Andy and friends. We would travle thru there yearly on our way to Austinville VA. Right near Hillsville off 77. We use to camp there each year at a private mom and pop place right on the New River. Give me the chance Sir, and I will be your neighbor again....lol. I came home for family and they have died or went crazy since then. So the wife and I am looking to return to where we felt at home.

Yer always welcome to move to Bristol,my friend (Bristol is the border-twon on VA\TN off I81)...I'm gunna need someone to go with to the Dragway come March to shoot vids anyways if they stick the Mrs on 2nd shift (won't let the kids sit without a parent\relative on the bleachers),LOL! Yep,know Mayberry well, and that Hillsville? My last codriver still lives right down the road from there in Galax, and that camp ground you speak of? I spent the night there when I biked that rail trail back in the Spring of last year...REAL small world
