Well, it's the second day of a new year and yesterday I actually finished a Shelf Queen of four years. This beastie fought me like the Boeing 737 did but I am more thrilled with the finish of this model that the other. I present to you my first model of 2019, the Heller 1/72 scale C-118 transport plane: It feels good to start the year with this thing out of what's left of my hair. Unlike the Boeing, I think I'll be taking this to contests. It most likely won't place, but it's gonna look great on the tables! Thanks all for looking in, comments are welcome!

Thanks guys! I am so incredibly thrilled to finally finish this after having it sit for four straight years in my Hobby Room. Now I can move on! Hmmm, I hear a DC-9 calling my name.....
This is another transport aircraft to add to my lineup. I've been trying to do one each of all the major USAAF and USAF military air transport aircraft from the DC-3 on up. However, until someone comes out with a 1/72 scale C-141 Starlifter, a C-17 and a C-5A Galaxy, this will remain a most incomplete lineup. Next up will be a C-54 sometime later this year.

Hummmm DC-9 I got one of them too .....Just have to make decals for it. Nova Models made a 1/72 vacuform C-141 A and B back some years ago. They are not too bad kits I guess. Kinetic is suppose to be coming out with an injection molded C-17 in 1/72, and Anigrand make a C-17 and C-5 in 72nd scale as well. Combat models also make a vacuform C-5 in 1/72 scale. None of them are inexpensive, but then again none of them are small models either But the odds of seeing injection molded kits of these are pretty slim I suppose.

Thank you guys for the awesome comments.
Ernie, I have the C-141 vac-formed kit. Whether I ever build it or not will be the question. I'll be looking forward to that Kinetic kit for sure. I don't want the Anigrand kits of those two aircraft because they are resin and I don't want to work with resin; especially at that size. As for slim chance, I think there's a better chance now. After all, we are seeing 1/32 scale B-17's and B-24's which are huge models. Not to mention a 1/48 scale B-52. If anything, a 1/72 scale C-141 or C-5 would be roughly the same size as those and the chance to put the incredible detail in them would be the same as those other larger aircraft.
Bucky, Joe and AG, thank guys. When that Thread opens up, I'll fly it in there for contention. It'll be a contender until someone like Jeeves, Dan, or Bruce posts there, or even you Joe: three-time winner of MOM!
Thanks again for the awesome comments guys!
