A bit of medieval graffiti

the first pictures show the mark of the masons to show that they had been paid for the brick,
the next apparently are marks to ward of evil,then two showing the oldest graffiti found at the castle 1810 although it looked to me like 1840

Joe and Bucky yep bottom one is definitely 1813 but the one that looks like 1840 apparently is 1810 according to the National Trust guides, I wasn't able to get the door open so the picture was taken at an angle. Whatever the dates are I was amazed at how neat the graffiti is,some of it looks as if stencils were used!! I did this during my lunch break so am claiming tiredness 😬😬
