Hey, guys, I have the urge to build me a garage diorama soon. Now I'm thinking about going the foam board route since its the most readily and cheapest for me. I'm just looking for advice and or tips you all might have. I have looked at videos on youtube already but like everything on there its always everyone saying its this way or the highway lol. So I figured id ask for advice and or tips
Thanks in advance
Ben

I've only used wood, putty and plastic for buildings...

I've used foam board for buildings in a couple dioramas, Ben and it's super easy to work with. Here are three photos showing the progression from raw cut outs of the walls, to basic assembly, and then the final look of the section from a 1/35 scale church I built many years ago: The best advice I can give you is plan every detail BEFORE you start cutting, take your time and have patience, and don't be afraid of mistakes or experimenting. If you have any specific questions, fire away!

Do you have a picture of the finished diorama Robert? In a nutshell, yes, I have photos.
An overall shot of the whole diorama...
And a close-up of the previously highlighted church...
Not the greatest photos in the world, but they work...

Ben I'd take the best ideas from those vids on YouTube and add them to Robert's suggestions and assistance and go nice and slow. Just because they say their way or the highway, doesn't mean that you have to do it their way.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

I agree with Mark. If you try doing some of these things by the letter of someone's suggestions, you'll get aggravated, quickly! I know I do!! I try to look at several methods to achieve the same result, and go from there to make it easy for me. Sometimes, I hafta back up and start over, too!! LOL
