These are some of the pics I have of the Nativity set for the play I do every year. These are several years old; I should get and post newer ones as some of this has evolved already.
Here is half of the Bethlehem Inn that I designed and built along with the stable doors that I built from scratch. Someone else painted the Inn, I painted the stable doors: Here's another shot of the stable doors. My lens was dirty at the time for these two shots: This last one shows the end of the play where all the shepherds joined the Holy Family inside the stable. The wise men also take positions inside as well after the play. They pose like this so people can take pictures of them and even stand next to them so they are in the pic too: BTW, that is a real baby, not a doll. I know it's hard to see him here, but he's real. They always use a real baby. This last shot is showing the entirety of the set at the time. As I mentioned above, this has grown considerably since these pics were taken. Later on I'll try to post some newer pics when I can get them off my phone.

Cool, Mark! And good job!
Even though I'm as non-religious as they come, I can remember growing up and marveling at the giant nativity figures - all of the them - being stored in our barn/garage all year long. My dad was in the local Lion's Club and they were in charge of setting up the scene every year in front of City Hall and also did the Christmas Eve Santa visits to kids all over the county.
Great memories!

Thanks guys! I'm glad you like it. I had a lot of fun building that and then operating the spotlight for the play. So Robert, all or "giant" nativity figures were all real people! Still, those sound like some awesome memories.

That is very cool Duke! That is a very nice set you all have made there. I must admit though it is a bit of culture(?) shock to me to see this all set up outside in the parking lot though. Could not do that comfortably here in New England Many times we have forged through sub-zero temps, snow. ice etc. to get to Christmas Eve or Christmas Day services. Nice of your church to put that on for the community.

Thanks for the great comments guys. Ernie, sometimes it does get quite cold, but not enough to bring snow. They do provide free hot chocolate for everyone to help keep them warm. And this is not my church. My church is Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. This church is attended by a friend of mine who brought me to see this play about eight years go. I opened my big mouth to make suggestions and got roped in hard, so every year; I show up, help build this and then run one of the spotlights.
Yeah, I remember some of the Minnesota winters we had, as well as the winter I spent 10 day in when I visited Ohio last January. One Christmas Eve in Minnesota we were heading out to Midnight Mass and there was 28" of snow on the ground with a temp of -46F degrees and a wind-chill factor of -92F. Those were the days.....
