Looking good. I struggle to keep 1 project going at a time, dont know how you manage 2. I'm weird that way. If I get to something I'm not happy about on one, I move it out of the way and work on the other until I feel up to going back to whatever I didn't want to do on the first one, back and forth, back and forth. It works for me, usually. On these two, I kept forgetting which kits I was using for each and thrashed around a bit the other day, but I'm better now.

I've had times like that, too! I've actually put whole engines in the wrong box, and can't find them until I pull a kit out and find two engines in there!!

I do it more and more, recently. Hmmm..... So, since I found all that DEF stuff, I thought I'd use it. The stowage fit the Takom turret close enough, even though it's designed for Dragon's kit, works for me with a little Aves. The Takom bustle reack was tedious, but it's on and looks okay with all the nice rolled-up junk in it. I also swapped in the DEF gun tube, it's got a better bellows, actual IDF-looking. I'll save the Verlinden part for something else. I used some Dragon, DEF and Verlinden parts to do the infantry phone and oil can box, with some bolt heads fron sliced hex rod here and there. Always fun!

T'anks all. So... I got started on the ERA, correcting as much as possible Dragon's "interpretation" of what's really there. I don't have particularly good pics of the M48-based Magachs, but since the turret is largely the same shape as an M60, I've got something closer that Dragon's instructions to use as a reference. Also, Dragon has several individual blocks on a shared backing plate, not at all factual, so I'm assembling the groups as Dragon has molded them to get the whole block, then separating them, filling and sanding and mounting them individually, a royal pain. I'm also getting into the spares boxes, as Dragon also shorts a few pieces. So far, the port side of the turret: IMG_9389 by Russel Baer, on Flickr IMG_9390 by Russel Baer, on Flickr Slow, but more accurate than Dragon's idea. I also had to remove both jerrycans, oops.

There we go, a sweet M-48 conversion. I love the look of that beast, just like the Huey UH-1N. I learned that most forget the suspension on the M48 is rendered too high on the Tamiya kits, not sure about the others. I had to drop mine after being notified of that issue. Now ya got me itchin to get back to the Nam era, heck I still have two dios going right now. You're a bad influence on me Rusty! Bookmarked. Cheers, Ski.

Hate to be a bad influence..... This one was originally intended to be "Nam era, with a dozer blade, so I drooped just the front suspension. I got tired of waiting for a dozer kit I could use, gave up on trying to adapt the Academy M9 kit, and decided to go ahead and build it IDF, with the Desert Eagle battering ram, which if placed against say a broken T55, would explain the suspension set, maybe.... I still have lots of M48 stuff in the stash, so I'm not done yet, and the Army M48 I did a number of years ago in Viet Nam-peroid markings is a bit dated now. Any hootch, pics as the Magach sits today: IMG_9482 by Russel Baer, on Flickr IMG_9483 by Russel Baer, on Flickr IMG_9484 by Russel Baer, on Flickr IMG_9485 by Russel Baer, on Flickr Getting the tweaked rear fenders all together was fun, in a weird sort of way, but I like it.
