Ahh....After church today I thought I might come home for a little more "rest" on the monster truck and maybe start doing some work on the F-16. But alas, it was not meant to be. Ya'all just met me in February and know all about my ankle surgery, but the last 5 years have been the worst medically of my life.
5 years ago, my migraine preventative stopped working and I went from 30 a year (Target is less than 10, but I haven't been less than 50 in 20 years) to 300 a year for 3 years in a row. 2 Years ago after giving up on modern "medicine" (drugs), I started a system called Plexus and didn't have a single migraine in 4 months. Unfortunately, it gave me so much energy and life back that in those 4 months, I tore up my right knee and left ankle even more (requiring two surgeries exactly 6 months apart). While waiting for the ankle surgery consult in November, I hit a period of about 4 months where I couldn't eat anything without getting terribly sick. This was the "cancer scare" of 2017. (My brother died of colon cancer when he was 25 and my mom was diagnosed on my 18th birthday--not to mention 20+ other people with it in the family from time to time) After months of tests, nothing ever came of it and then I was off work for 7 weeks and everything got better.
Now that I've been back to work for 3 months, I once again can't eat and as a result, the headaches are getting worse. We've decided that the old building I work in probably has a black mold problem. So, to the title of my post. This was a rough week and by Friday night I was completely wiped out between 2 jobs and 6 weeks of yard construction. Friday and Saturday I spent that time in my recliner working on the monster truck and felt good.
Today is a "migraine fog" day. I picked up my models and just reading the instructions with all of the different steps wore me out. So I'm online playing a mindless game and trying to get through the fog so I can hit the ground running again tomorrow. I get so many crazy looks when I tell people that I'm too tired sometimes to pick up my iPad or phone, but migraines do that to you...
I do appreciate any and all prayers, but do thank you all. I have lost 3 out of the last 5 years, but modeling gives me something to do on those days when I can't go outside, can't get off the couch and can't think. It also gives me something other than computers and work to talk to my family about. (They might not be fully interested, but they help me with colors, decals, etc and humor me when I'm sharing the info I learn in the instructions) You all keep me motivated to learning new ways to do things and improve my craft!

We are here for you, and to offer encouragement and support for more than just the model building that we all do. Hang in there, and keep after those doctors to find a solution for the headaches. I've had migraine headaches, and I know they are not fun!

I know all about migraines!!!! They FKN suck.... I get them at least once or twice a week. Trust me everyone here is understanding and you dont have to be afraid you will get pushed to the side. We are all like one big glue sniffing, dysfunctional family here, But we have fun and respect each other.. Take me for example I can be active and posting like non stop, then ill just be dealing with RL crap which I am now. But no matter how much bs Im going through they fellas here always understand and are always drop everything to listen and be there for you. Sorry i kinda got in a Dr. Phil kinda mood there lol, You get the point!!! Your a modeler, Your family!!!!

That's why I love it here! Thankfully This last 10 months my migraines have been much better, but I know I'll never be completely rid of them. Sounds like a good Sunday Joe! Sara used to get so mad at me for mowing on Sundays when we first got married because Sunday is a day of rest and I completely agree, but then she came to realize that mowing is a rest for me. However, I usually spend the day Saturday in the yard, so Sundays are for Colts football, modelling (now), a little Forge of Empires and the recliner with a dog at each foot!

Scott, I know how it feels to have the medically worst time of your life. After a week and a half of high-dose radiation treatment for my prostate; I have endured more pain than I ever imagined I could endure over the past three weeks. Because of the pain, I've been on a liquid diet almost entirely. It still hurts to sit and even lay down in certain positions. I won't even discuss the incredibly intense pain I feel when stuff needs to come out!
I would also love to get into the Hobby Room for some styrene 'rest', but I cannot stay too long due to the pain I feel when sitting. My Sunday is all about getting to Mass in the morning and then relaxing and napping in the afternoon afterward. In the evening, my wife and I go out. Most important is the Mass for me.
I'm only feeling slightly better so I'll be attempting to get something done in the Hobby Room this week as I'm on enforced home rest by my doctor. Hopefully I'll have something new to post soon. Until then, I shall continue to pray for you and for a swift discovery and recovery for you.

I feel for you man. I watched my brother go through it 15 years ago and can't imagine how he did it that last year! Will be praying for your recovery! I also appreciate the encouragement!
