You're welcome Ernie. Your tremendous weathering technique really brought that out. Thank you Duke. I don't know if it is tremendous though, but I appreciate the sentiment. I'm just bopping along trying to make a decent model

So, to bring this up to date...… The start of the ground work on the base. The "log" is a stick from the back yard. I sealed it and then painted and weathered it to look old and aged. No jungle or rainforest would be complete without some mushrooms (and I've always wanted to make some ground work that included them ), so I made a mold for the caps using 2 part mold putty. I used a the rounded ends of a couple different size paint brush handles, and the larger circles using the shank end of a drill bit. Resin copies were then made. Shrooms!! The caps are so small the do not hold enough resin to cure completely on their own, so they were baked in a 200 deg. oven for about 7 to 10 minutes and that finished the cure off nicely....though the heat index was 105 that day so it was really the last thing I wanted to do Evergreen rod was used for the stems. I made 6, used 4 and have a couple spares plus the mold....more shrooms in the future Next was a jungle plant. I have never used these before, they are laser cut paper and are pretty cool. they come on dark green paper, so I stuck a pin through the two layers of leaves and used oil paint to color and blend the leaves. When they dried I bent the ends of a couple of leaves over and used brown oil paint again to color the bent tips like on real plants (or at least the ones in my garden look brown like that ). The pin head was painted a light green as to make it look like the bulb / stem, and then the pin was cut short and used to stick the plant to the base. And I painted Homer (the dude that rides on the thing), but it looks like I forgot to upload pictures of him, so I must go do that before I continue...…. Ok, so I found Homers picture and uploaded so here he is. This is the first figure I have painted in probably 5 or 6 years, and the first I have done in all acrylics, including the flesh tones. I bought a flesh paint set from either AK or AMMO, (one was in stock, the other wasn't, made the choice easier) and their book on painting flesh tones and figured it as I went along. I gave him a woodland type camo pattern on the pants and jacket, and watched a couple video's to figure out how the rest of his gear was painted as I had no idea, (I liked the model and it looked like it would be fun, but I had no real knowledge of who rode the thing or anything else... gotta love YouTube)! And so this is now pretty much up to date, except for this is how it looks today ....

Phenomenal work Ernie! I'm stunned at how well that base looks with the 'shrooms on it! This really enhances the entire overall model far more than I would ever have expected. Way to go knocking this out if the park!
