......the air was warm for this time of year. Just the soft sound of footsteps slowly making their way up the grassy hill. Butterflies dance in the last warm rays of the setting sun.. the light in her hair and her hand, so small in yours, makes you forget the world exists .... .around the bend in the path, just over there, she squeezes your hand a little more as it comes into view again after so long..... those many happy years rush over her in a skipped heartbeat as sit once more on that seat where it all started ...back at that special place where she said ...yes..... This was just a little something I felt like making for my wife, just because. The story is, well, just a story but similar to reality. It was a picnic table by the beach where I proposed rather than the romantic tree swing under the cherry blossoms.... close enough Its set in a large maccona coffee jar and made from simple things like a twig from the yard, some dirt and pebbles and the swing is matchsticks hung on black cotton. The blossoms are made from yoga mat foam chucked in the blender with greanery from woodland scenics. A couple of part way shots give a very different feel... I do kinda like the eerie feel of that last shot.

Thank you. It sits on display with the heart shaped steel box I made her, on the TV unit where she can see it easily. Making things for her or with her in mind is probably where I say my "happy place" is.
I made a smaller scene along these lines for my mum after I made this one. Mum raved over this one so I made her one for Christmas last year as a surprise. I'll post it up too when I find the pics.

Oh wow! That is brilliant! It's also very moving. I do wish I had thought of something like that myself.
You are one magnificent modeler and person my man!

Got mum to send me some photos of the little scene I made her. Made with same techniques as the little notion, the tree scattered with the pink yoga mat foam but painted afterwards to resemble a magnolia tree, the flowers are ripped kitchen sponges. Its about 4" across x 6" tall. If you try one of these type of scenes under glass just remember it'll take at least a few days or more to dry out completely before you can leave the lid on.

These are truly amazing. The poem makes the first one more personal. Great job on the both.
